Fostering Tech Growth & Innovation
Our nation has been responsible for some of the most important technology innovations in the last century. We must continue to encourage and support the innovation that is at the core of this part of our economy. By supporting policies and initiatives that create an environment friendly to small businesses and entrepreneurs in the private sector, we will remain the world’s leading innovator.
Fighting for Net Neutrality
In today’s digital age, open and equal access to the internet is not only essential to upholding our democratic principles, it is critical to healthcare, education, employment, and so much more. Tulsi Gabbard strongly supports net neutrality and has co-sponsored legislation like the Online Competition and Consumer Choice Act, which would prohibit multi-tiered pricing agreements between ISPs and content providers. The Internet must continue to be free, open, and equally accessible to all, not just for a privileged few.
Protecting Privacy in the Age of Technology
Over the past three decades, technology and innovation have dramatically redefined the way we live. Yet our laws governing online privacy have stayed stagnant. As a founding member of the recently launched Fourth Amendment Caucus, Tulsi is working to ensure that the Fourth Amendment rights granted to each and every American under our Constitution keep up with the rapid expansion of technology in today’s digital age. She has strongly supported legislation like the Email Privacy Act and Electronic Communications Privacy Amendments Act to make much needed and long overdue updates to our online privacy laws.
Promoting STEAM Opportunities
Science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEM) knowledge and skills are critical to today's competitive, globalized economy. To maximize growth in our economy, we need to strengthen STEAM education programs in our schools, attract the best and brightest to the United States, improve entrepreneurs’ and small business access to capital, and pass smart reforms to our unnecessarily complicated tax system and patent process. As co-chair of the bipartisan Diversifying Tech Caucus, Tulsi is working to ensure those who are underrepresented in the technology sector, like women, minorities and veterans—have the opportunities to expand their knowledge and skills and meet the demands of the 21st century economy.

"Great to see Sanford Inouye of @olelocommunity and Jay April of @AkakuTV before votes! They amplify the diverse voices of our Aloha State by providing media training, production facilities, air time on cable and online outlets & more"-TG
"An open, fair, and equal Internet is critical for things like tele-health services, employment opportunities, entrepreneurship, education, sharing creative content, and so much more. The people of Hawai‘i and our country have made it clear they support net neutrality, and we must do all that we can to empower their voices and protect their rights to fairness and equality. It’s great the Senate passed legislation today - now the House must do the same to stop the @FCC’s corporate-backed repeal of net neutrality."-TG
