Friday evening on Moloka‘i, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) delivered the opening address at the Moloka‘i High School Class of 2018’s Commencement Ceremony. The congresswoman joined families, teachers, administrators, alumni, and community members in congratulating the graduates on their many achievements and successes, including the fact that more than 40% of the graduating class is graduating with completed college credits. In her address, the congresswoman spoke about the value of servant leadership, and living aloha no matter where life’s journey leads. She also recognized Principal Stan Ha‘o who is retiring this year after serving the past eight years as principal, and a total of 33 years serving Hawaii’s keiki.  

In her address to the graduates, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard said, “Figuring out every step of your future is less important than answering one very important questionwhat is your purpose in life?  As you venture out into the world, may you be motivated by aloha and a desire to be of service. Find peace, love, strength and courage in aloha—to stand up for what is pono, to fight for our people, to fight for our ‘aina, and our future. Congratulations to the Class of 2018. Go Farmers!”
