Rep. Tulsi Gabbard Statement on Aftermath of Super Typhoon Haiyan
November 12, 2013
Washington, DC – Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) today released the statement below following the destruction of Super Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines:
“As someone who spent much time in the Philippines, and has many friends who still live there, it is truly heart-breaking to see the devastation and loss of life caused by Super Typhoon Haiyan. Like many in Hawai‘i and around the world, I and my family are seeking the whereabouts of loved ones who live in Tacloban City and other devastated areas of the Philippines. I am praying for all those who have lost family and friends, and for those who continue to search for them in the aftermath of the storm. I encourage all those who are able to contribute to the recovery effort in any way they can.”
