Rep. Tulsi Gabbard Hopeful for Diplomatic Option in Syria

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) today released the following statement about diplomatic options in Syria:

“I sincerely hope that the diplomatic efforts to get Syria to turn its chemical weapons stockpile over to international control will succeed. It would be a tragedy and serious mistake for us to attack Syria, as it would not reduce or prevent another chemical attack. Indeed, such a strike increases the likelihood of chemical weapons getting into the hands of Al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups, causing even more suffering, not less.”

Earlier today, Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard announced her strong opposition to the proposed U.S. military strike.
