Rep. Tulsi Gabbard on Facebook: Net Neutrality

January 8, 2018
Press Release

"The FCC’s corporate-backed repeal of net neutrality – despite the millions of Americans who voiced comments, made calls, protested, and fought hard to ensure the Internet remains open, fair, and equal for everyone – proves the pervasive and corruptive power of special interests in our government.

"Because we live on an island, the Internet is critical to #Hawaii. Maintaining a fair and open Internet is necessary for access to tele-health services, employment opportunities, entrepreneurship, education, sharing creative content, and so much more. That’s why I’m working across the aisle with my colleagues to overturn the FCC’s short-sighted decision and restore net neutrality.

"While the United States’ FCC threatens to stifle competition and innovation and creativity, the UK has announced that high-speed Internet will be a legal right by 2020. To truly compete at the highest level in the 21st century economy, the United States uphold net neutrality protections." - TG
