Rep. Tulsi Gabbard on Facebook: Kauai Walk to End Alzheimers

August 13, 2017
Press Release

"Yesterday kicked off the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s event on Kauai- one of many walks taking place in communities across the country. Each year, millions of people join this walk to raise awareness about the important need for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. In Congress, I’m working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle, and in both chambers, to pass legislation like the Health Outcomes, Planning, and Education (HOPE) for Alzheimer's Act to help to improve outcomes for Alzheimer's and dementia patients by increasing information and raising awareness of the available resources for newly diagnosed patients and their families. I’ve also long supported critical investments that promote medical breakthroughs and leadership in biomedical research, and have also worked to ensure that the National Institutes of Health, which leads cutting edge research on Alzheimer’s and other health diseases, gets the funding it needs to continue its important work. Best of luck to all of this year’s walkers, and mahalo everyone working to end Alzheimer’s together."
