PHOTOS: Rep. Tulsi Gabbard Visits Maui, Meets with Community Leaders, Athletes, And Students

Honolulu – Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) yesterday visited Maui and discussed the importance of supporting Hawaiian language media and culture with ʻiwi Television leadership, addressed the Maui Hotel & Lodging Charity Walk non-profit team leaders who raise money for local non-profits, spoke at a student assembly at Seabury Hall, presented awards to the Maui Dolphins Swim Team who are training for Special Olympics, met with Maui Police Chief Tivoli Fa`aumu, and visited the Maui Farm.
As part of her scheduled March District Work Period, Congresswoman Gabbard has conducted district meetings and visits all this week.

Meet and Greet with Maui Hotel & Lodging Charity Walk Team Leaders
Congresswoman Gabbard attended a meet and greet with Maui Hotel & Lodging Charity Walk Team Leaders to thank them for their leadership and community service. The Maui Hotel & Lodging Association has hosted the state’s largest fundraising event since 1980, raising more than $8.3 million benefiting Maui, Molokai, and Lanai non-profit organizations.

Meeting with Naalehu Anthony &  Amy Kalili,  ʻiwi Television
Congresswoman Gabbard met with ʻiwi Television CEO Naalehu Anthony and producer Amy Kalili to discuss ʻʻiwi television’s mission and efforts to provide an all Hawaiian language and culture content station in Hawaii.  
Talk story session with Seabury Hall Student Body & Faculty
Congresswoman Gabbard spoke and engaged in Q&A with Seabury Hall’s student body and faculty to address the importance of the aloha spirit, servant leadership and public service. 
Visit to Maui Farm with Executive Director Paula Ambre
Congresswoman Gabbard met with Maui Farm executive director Paula Ambre to learn more about its farm-based, family-centered residential programs. The Maui Farm is a local, family-centered farm the provides short term housing and self-sufficient life skills training to local at-risk families.
Meeting with Maui Police Chief Tivoli Fa`aumu
Congresswoman Gabbard met with and congratulated chief Tivoli Fa`aumu for his selection by the Maui Police Commission to serve as Maui County's Chief of Police. Chief Fa`aumu began his career with the Maui Police Department in 1985 at the Maui receiving desk, later graduating from recruit class training. Chief  Fa`aumu served as field supervisor, detective, and supervisor at the Vice, Gambling & Narcotics Division in Lahaina. (Pictured below with Maui Dolphin Special Olympics Swim Coaches)
Meet and Greet with the Maui Dolphins Swim Team
Congresswoman Gabbard congratulated the Maui Dolphins Special Olympics Swim Team for their efforts and representation of Maui in the Special Olympics Swim & Fin Competition. 
MARCH 11 UPDATE: Meet and Greet with Wailuku Hongwanji Boy Scouts Pack 40 Meeting
Congresswoman Gabbard finished her March 11th meetings with some fun and good talk story time with Wailuku Hongwanji Troop 40.
