Washington, DC—Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) today spoke on the House floor urging her colleagues to reauthorize Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), which provides healthcare coverage to 8.9 million children whose family incomes are above Medicaid eligibility limits but lack access to affordable, private healthcare coverage. More than 25,000 keiki in Hawai‘i benefit from CHIP.

The presentation ceremony was the culmination of Congresswoman Gabbard and Senator Hirono’s years-long effort to recognize Filipino World War II veterans with the Congressional Gold Medal, Congress’ highest civilian honor.
