Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) attended the opening ceremony of the inaugural “Queen of the Bay” women’s big wave surfing competition held at Waimea Bay. The event honors Queen Kaʻahumanu, the first Kuhina Nui, as well as other powerful women throughout Hawaiʻi’s history who redefined the perceived roles of women.
