Yesterday on Oʻahu, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) attended the Centennial Observance Honoring Queen Liliʻuokalani’s Life and Legacy at the Hawaiʻi State Capitol. The congresswoman joined hundreds in presenting hoʻokupu in honor of the queen, and commemorating her legacy of peace.
Washington, DC—Ahead of the 100th Anniversary of World War I next year, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) today introduced bipartisan legislation to rehabilitate World War I memorials in Hawai‘i and across the country. H.R. 4328, the Honoring World War I Memorial Act of 2017 would authorize $50 million awarded through VA grants to eligible entities for the rehabilitation of World War I memorials throughout the United States.

Washington, DC—U.S. Representative Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawai‘i), U.S. Senator Brian Schatz (D-Hawai‘i), and U.S. Senator Mazie K. Hirono (D-Hawai‘i) announced that the Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperation (KIUC) will receive a more than $60 million loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to build and upgrade more than 70 miles of power lines and support smart grid projects.
