Washington, DC—Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard and the Hawai'i Congressional Delegation introduced the Sustainable Fishing Workforce Protection Act, legislation that would address concerns about the status of foreign workers in Hawaii’s longline fishing fleet.
Washington, DC—Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) spoke on the House floor today in recognition of the 75th anniversary of Executive Order 9066, which authorized the internment of more than 110,000 Japanese Americans during World War II.
Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard said:
"The healthcare open enrollment period for 2018 has begun. If you live in Hawai'i and do not have healthcare coverage through your employer, or you are self-employed or need to buy your own insurance, you can purchase health insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace online at healthcare.gov. Open enrollment for 2018 health plans runs from November 1 to December 15.
"2017 marks the 75th anniversary of Executive Order 9066, which authorized the internment of 1000s of Japanese Americans on U.S. soil. As we look around our country & world today, we sadly see the same kind of divisiveness and prejudice that targeted Japanese Americans during WWII. We must stand up against this darkness, and inspired by the Aloha spirit, confront hatred and bigotry with courage, love, & respect rather than fueling divisions" - TG
"Met w/ @DHHL this morning to discuss reauthorizing #NAHASDA and how current funds are being used to provide affordable housing for Native Hawaiians, Native Americans & Alaska Natives" - TG
