Honolulu, HI—This week, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) announced that Hawai‘i will be receiving over $54 million in Title I, Part A federal aid for schools to help improve teaching and learning opportunities for at-risk students, especially those in low-income communities. The first round of funds will be dispersed in July with the remaining funds, as adjusted, becoming available in October.

This will be the thirteenth coronavirus-related virtual town hall event Rep. Gabbard has hosted since the first COVID-19 cases showed up in Hawai‘i.

She was joined by guests Darin Leong, a labor and employment attorney who has worked with Hawai‘i community leaders to raise awareness about relief programs available to businesses and employees, as well as Sondra Leiggi-Brandon, APRN, and Anthony P. Guerrero, M.D., from The Queen’s Medical Center.
