More on Kaua‘i Updates
"#Kauai County is the first county in #Hawaii to take legal action against the makers, marketers, and distributors of opioid pain medications. Big Pharma must be held accountable for the devastation, heartache, suffering, and loss of life they’ve perpetuated and profited from as the opioid epidemic ravages our country. I’m introducing a bill with @SenatorBernieSanders to prohibit illegal marketing and distribution of opioids and empower prosecutors to punish those who break the law.
LIHUE — Disaster recovery on Kauai is making progress with the help of good Samaritans.
Samaritan’s Purse, a North Carolina-based Christian relief organization, on Wednesday landed at Lihue Airport with supplies and disaster specialists on the organization’s DC-8 cargo plane that departed from Greensboro.
"Thank you @SamaritansPurse and @FranklinGraham for your tremendous generosity in supplying donations, supplies, equipment and support for ongoing recovery efforts on #Kauai. Over the weekend, dozens of Samaritan’s Purse volunteers from Kauai and several other states unloaded and delivered 70 tons of donations to help those affected by the floods with the rebuilding effort. Although the long road to recovery has just begun, we’re continuing to see Aloha in action through people coming together to help those in need.
