Washington, DC—Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) today spoke on the House floor honoring the service and sacrifice of Hawai‘i County Police Officer Bronson Kaliloa, who was killed in the line of duty after being shot during a traffic stop on Tuesday night.

The U.S. House of Representatives approved more than $4.7 million for the U.S. Geological Survey’s (USGS) Volcano Hazards Program to be included in an appropriations package tonight.
This funding would allow for the staff on Hawaii Island to relocate their office which was badly damaged by seismic activity from the ongoing Kilauea eruption and forced to close, Congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa and Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard announced today.
Today on Hawaiʻi Island, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) attended a Hilo Pride event at the Hilo Moʻoheau Bandstand, supported the opening of a new micro-homes transitional housing project in Pāhoa, hosted a community town hall with Puna’s local and state officials, and attended “Imua Puna,” a benefit for those displaced by Kīlauea’s eruptions.
