Kaʻu, Hawaiʻi Island—Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) conducted a six-stop agriculture tour on Hawaiʻi Island today, starting with meetings and briefings at research facilities in Hilo, followed by farm visits in Volcano, Pahala, and Kaʻu. She also hosted a “Tulsi in Your Town” meeting with Kaʻu farmers and residents that included important briefings from professionals in the agriculture industry. Today on Hawai`i Island, Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) recognized National Museum Week by touring the historic grounds of Hulihe`e Palace in Kailua-Kona. Once a summer vacation home for Hawaiian royalty, today Hulihe‘e Palace is a museum showcasing artifacts from the era of King Kalākaua and Queen Kapi‘olani. The Palace is one of three restored Palaces where Hawaiian royalty once lived, and which today serve as historical museums.
Washington, DC—Today, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) joined hundreds at the Old Town Alexandria Waterfront Park to welcome the Hōkūle’a as it came down the Potomac River to Washington, DC. The congresswoman toured the Hōkūle’a, welcomed the crew and all those present for the arrival ceremony, and enjoyed music and dance presented by local hālaus and the Piscataway Conoy Tribe of Maryland.
