A 911-texting service is being launched for the state of Hawaii.
“The text-to-911 service provides practical mobile emergency communications,” Hawaii Gov. David Ige said at press conference Thursday. “This can be important to the disadvantaged community, the disabled, deaf and hard of hearing. Hawaii is proud to join six other states that have deployed this service across the country.”
Washington, DC—Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) announced today that 14 Hawaiʻi Health Centers will receive a total of $753,064 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to support health information technology (IT) enhancements. The funding is part of more than $87 million provided by HHS to 1,310 health centers in every U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the Pacific Basin.

Many Members also wore aloha attire and leis to honor Rep.
Honolulu, HI—Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) announced today that she is currently accepting nomination request letters from individuals in Hawai‘i’s Second Congressional District to the U.S. Service Academies for the classes entering in the summer of 2017. Applicants can request a nomination form here. The deadline for completed files is October 31, 2016.
Washington, DC—Today, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (HI-02) introduced a House resolution (H.Res.841) honoring the late U.S. Congressman Mark Takai. Today is the first day that Congress is back in session since the passing of the congressman on July 20, 2016. The resolution passed the House unanimously this evening. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard also led members in a moment of silence on the House floor to honor the late Congressman and his family.
